DAY 4 - THIRD FULL DAY IN FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA

By the time we got back from lunch yesterday, it was time for dinner.  Just kidding but we did have a late lunch and stayed at the restaurant for several hours.  The restaurant was H20 Cafe.  Yes, it gets its name since the ocean is right across the street and the views were spectacular.  Simple place but one that we would return to.  Even had tablecloths and how many places have tablecloths. Beautiful wooden floors and wood on the walls.  Very nice.

A couple of hours after we got back to the hotel, we had a pre-dinner drink of wine and a couple of canapés at the hotel Club Floor.   Everyone has their favorite hotels but one of our favorites is Ritz Carlton and one of the reasons for that is we like their Club Lounge.  It provides a nice room to have breakfast, or a light snack and as well as very nice service and a very quiet environment to talk about plans for the day or to reflect on the events of the day or to just talk about any topic or to read a book or just taken in the ambience of the room and the views of the city.

Five courses are served daily and several change from day to day.

We ended up getting takeout from a nearby restaurant to take back to the room just so we could enjoy the room and because we had a late lunch.

Todays marks our last full day in For Lauderdale as we will board Silver Spirit tomorrow.

Once again, we enjoyed breakfast in the Club Room.  It's interesting that this Club Room never seems very crowded compared to some we have stayed.  Not sure why.  Maybe it's because most people staying at the hotel this time of year are tourists. Staff is very attentive and friendly.  Most now know us by name and we're not even on a cruise ship.  LOL, but true.

Kept to our same breakfast of cereal and fruit and coffee and water. This is pretty much our regimen at home although at home Keith has oatmeal.  Likewise, we will do this on the cruise.  We just find it's a good way to start the day for each of us and we try to eat a simpler and lighter breakfast.  As they say in life, figure out what works best for you and go with that.

Unfortunately for us, "Mother Nature" did not coordinate and it was raining with a high percentage of rain forecasted for most of the day.

This meant that like yesterday morning, we couldn't take along walk after breakfast, so we revisited the Fitness Center and Anne Marie worked out on the Treadmill while Keith was back on the Spin (indoor cycling) Bike.  Here is a selfie he took of himself. Very serious, and too closeup.  He needs longer arms.

With the continuation of rain, we decided to pack since we will be checking out tomorrow to board the Silver Spirit.

As they say timing is everything.  Coincidentally our son, Eric, arrived to Miami on Tuesday on business.  He called us and his schedule for Wednesday provided some flexibility so he could drive  up to Fort Lauderdale to meet us in the afternoon.  So, we enjoyed several hours with Eric and we went back to H20 for lunch and then we went back to the hotel and sat in the Club Room to continue our conversation. All in all a wonderful afternoon.

Tomorrow we board the Spirit.
